O. Dashawn Patrick
Dashawn's goal is to  help change the culture of foster care by inspiring foster youth to live beyond the statistics of those ageing-out of the system.  He is a graduate of the University of Washington, business owner and former professional baseball player in the Seattle Mariner organization.  His first book- And Some RISE Above It- is a top choice for foster care agencies and schools throughout the country.  His next book, My Daddy's a Pilot, will be released in 2009.

Dashawn is the Seattle Mariner Inspire Our Future Award recipient which is given to individuals who are inspiring young people to soar.  The award will be presented before the Mariner game at Safeco Field on May 21st 2009.
